In Loving Memory, Peter J. Brent, CFP®
Founder
In 1986, Peter founded our practice with a commitment to providing personalized financial guidance rooted in community values and professional excellence. A lifelong resident of New York's Hudson Valley, Peter brought the same care and attention to his clients' financial wellbeing that he devoted to the region he loved.
Throughout his career, Peter maintained the highest standards of professional achievement. In 2021, he was recognized as a Founder's Club advisor by Commonwealth Financial Network—a distinction awarded to advisors in the top 37 percent based on annual production. This elite group is invited to exclusive conferences focused on advanced education, industry best practices, and innovative client service strategies, ensuring our practice stays at the forefront of financial planning.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Peter was deeply engaged in the Hudson Valley community, a lifelong Yankee fan and family was always a priority in his life. He served on the board of trustees for the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley and dedicated over 20 years to the Alzheimer's Association Hudson Valley Chapter, reflecting his belief that financial advisors have a responsibility to strengthen the communities they serve.
His partner of 36 years, Laurie Brent Schiavone leads our practice, continuing the tradition of personalized service, integrity, and community engagement that her father established. We remain partnered with Commonwealth Financial Network, providing our clients access to comprehensive resources while maintaining the personal, relationship-focused approach that has always defined our work.
In honor of Peter's legacy of community service, our practice is making an annual $25,000 donation to Sparrow's Nest, continuing his commitment to supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Hudson Valley families.
We're honored to serve families throughout the Hudson Valley with the same dedication Peter brought to every client relationship.
